Mental Health First Aid

The last few years have been hard on everyone. Amidst a global pandemic, economic uncertainty, and changes to the ways we work, the need to support everyone’s mental health and wellbeing is greater than ever.

MHFAiders® gain the knowledge and skills to spot the signs of a person experiencing poor mental health, the confidence to start a conversation and the tools to signpost to appropriate support

Train your people as Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) and they’ll get three years of MHFAider® Support and Benefits to help them feel empowered and confident in their role

MHFA will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis. You will gain:

  • An understanding of stress, mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of a range of mental health issues

  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress using the Mental Health First Aid action plan

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • improved mental health literacy around language and stigma

  • Knowledge to encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports

  • Skills to look after your own wellbeing and prioritise self care

Course can be delivered face to face or online:

Face to face over 2 days - each session has mix of presentation, discussion and activities

Online - four trainer led interactive sessions

Small groups for both online and face to face encourage interaction and enable attendees   to feel supported

What our newly qualified Mental Health First Aiders say:

"Excellent course. Informative and brilliant instructor. Supplied with a manual/guide for further information"

"Tracy was excellent, to have someone who has been there, seen it and done it and to openly discuss her own issues made the two days even better. She knew when to rain us in when we went off the subject, but allowed us to openly discuss our own experiences related to mental health. It was a difficult but enjoyable two days and I think Tracy made the difference, especially moving us all around so that we all worked with different members of the group, thank you."

"Tracey was so lovely and engaging - we all learned loads and feel very empowered after the course. It was a great experience and still every interactive even online - I have done the course in person before."
